Our institute become part of the state government's (SCERT) "center of excellence scheme" for general and special schools of Kerala. as an initial step, our staff participated in the module preparation program and conducted training session for the teachers and parents of hearing impaired children’s across Kerala.

On 08 March 2022, our institute was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation by the District Administration for the sincere and effective implementation of the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) Scheme for senior citizens in Kasargod District.
Mar Thoma College of Special Education, Kasaragod, was honored in recognition of its exceptional contributions to disability welfare during 2021–22. The award, conferred by the Kasaragod District Panchayat in collaboration with the District Social Justice Office, was presented by R. Bindu, Kerala’s Minister for Higher Education and Social Justice. The accolade was accepted on behalf of the institution by its former director."
